Junior Litigation Paralegal
A respected civil defense litigation firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Litigation Paralegal with 3+ years of experience supporting attorneys in all phases of the litigation process. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking to gain hands-on trial and case management experience while working collaboratively with experienced litigation attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, flexibility, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to litigation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including trial preparation and courtroom support.
- Prepare, format, file, and manage legal documents in state and federal courts.
- Draft and manage subpoenas, production logs, and discovery materials.
- Summarize medical records, depositions, discovery responses, and other case-related documents.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials, including scheduling and logistics.
- Maintain case files, calendars, deadlines, and court schedules.
- Conduct factual and legal research to support case strategy.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and vendors as needed.
- Assist with trial preparation, exhibit organization, and case management activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- 3+ years of civil defense litigation experience in a law firm environment.
- Experience supporting commercial litigation and/or insurance defense matters preferred.
- Familiarity with e-filing systems and litigation case management software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and travel for out-of-town trials when necessary.
