Location: Houston, TX (Shop + Field Work)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Overtime and travel may be required
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $30/hour + overtime
We are partnering with a growing industrial equipment company seeking a skilled Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of nitrogen generation and air handling equipment in both shop and field environments.
This is a hands-on technical role ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working independently, and supporting customers in the field.
Position Overview
The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining industrial nitrogen equipment, air compressors, dryers, and related systems. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can safely perform mechanical work, communicate clearly with customers and internal teams, and maintain accurate service documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair nitrogen generation systems and air handling equipment
• Break down, restore, and reassemble equipment including compressors, dryers, boosters, and distribution systems
• Develop repair plans including necessary parts, materials, and tools
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues
• Create daily service reports, work orders, and technical documentation
• Coordinate parts ordering and maintain repair records
• Monitor motors, control systems, and electrical equipment in industrial environments
• Communicate repair progress and technical findings with supervisors and customers
• Respond to service calls and troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively
• Demonstrate equipment operation and provide recommendations to customers when needed
• Maintain tools, service vehicles, and work areas in safe and organized condition
• Travel to customer locations for field service assignments as required
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Technical or mechanical training is a plus
• Experience 2+ years servicing industrial equipment such as compressors, nitrogen generators, or air handling systems preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to use hand tools and perform equipment repairs safely
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in shop and field environments
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol screenings
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work on equipment for extended periods
• Comfortable working in shop environments and outdoor job sites
Work Environment
Work may be performed in shop environments, customer facilities, or outdoor job sites. Conditions may include exposure to noise, mechanical equipment, temperature changes, and industrial environments. All technicians are required to follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.
