Start Date: 5/18/2026
Pay: $26–$30/hour + project completion bonus (discussed during phone interview)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional weekend work
Work Location: Santa Ana, CA (just outside Orange, CA)

Transit Client: LECIP and Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA)
Equipment: LECIP Fareboxes and Co-Pilot units
Project Overview
We are hiring Installation Technicians for a low voltage transit installation project in Santa Ana, CA, involving the removal and replacement of LECIP-manufactured Fareboxes and Co-Pilot units on OCTA transit vehicles. All work will be performed on-site at the OCTA bus base in Santa Ana. The project is structured in two phases:
- Phase 1 – Pilot: Approximately one week to remove and install 10 LECIP Fareboxes. After the pilot, LECIP and OCTA will allow the units to run for at least one week before Phase 2 begins.
- Phase 2 – Full Rollout: A minimum of 13 weeks of installations following successful pilot validation.
Candidates must commit to the entire length of the project and be able to reliably commute to Santa Ana, CA daily.
Job Summary
Technicians will remove old electronic components and cabling and install new components and cabling on OCTA transit vehicles. Work includes terminating low voltage electrical wiring to 12V and 24V power sources, mounting equipment, running and securing cables, and verifying that systems power up correctly.
Job Duties
- Identify correct electronic components and cables
- Remove old electronic components and cables
- Install new equipment and components
- Run new cables and wiring
- Strip, prepare, and crimp electrical terminals
- Terminate wires to power sources such as breakers, terminal blocks, and grounding lugs
- Secure wiring after work is completed
- Verify systems power up correctly
- Assist with troubleshooting as needed
- Clean work areas at the end of each shift
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous electronics, electromechanical, construction, or trades experience
- Low voltage electrical background preferred
- Experience with electronic components, connectors, and terminations
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Experience running cables and wiring
- Ability to stand, bend, or crouch for long periods
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Reliable daily attendance and punctuality
- Must have own tools
