manufacturing, or electromechanical systems.
· Experience providing quality support in a manufacturing environment, including electrical
connector assembly, cable assembly, soldering, crimping, overmolding, shielding, potting, high-
amp power terminations, or high-density data cabling.
· Preferred experience supporting oil & gas, industrial energy, ruggedized harsh-environment
products, subsea/topside/refinery/downhole equipment, or data center infrastructure.
· Preferred experience qualifying and managing suppliers of wire, terminals, connectors, shielding
materials, potting/overmold compounds, and electromechanical components.
· Preferred certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt.
Duties / Responsibilities: ·
Develop, maintain, and improve quality standards for ruggedized cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electrical connectors used in harsh or mission-critical environments. · Ensure product and process compliance with IPC-A-620/WHMA-A-620, ISO 9001, UL, API, AS9100 where applicable, and customer-specific requirements. · Support First Article Inspections (FAI), PPAP documentation, qualification testing, validation builds, and customer approvals. · Conduct internal audits and support external customer and certification body audits, including UL, ATEX, and IECEx reviews where applicable. · Provide hands-on quality engineering support on the production floor for cable assembly, connector assembly, soldering, crimping, overmolding, shielding, potting, high-amp terminations, and high-density cabling. · Create and maintain process flows, control plans, PFMEAs, inspection test plans, workmanship guidelines, and related quality documentation. · Partner with production and engineering teams supporting subsea, topside, refinery, downhole, oilfield, industrial energy, and data center infrastructure assemblies. · Lead investigations for internal rejects, supplier nonconformances, customer complaints, and field failures in high-stress or hazardous environments. · Drive corrective and preventive actions, verify effectiveness, and track quality trends, reliability metrics, and process capability. · Support new product introductions (NPI), fast-track builds, manufacturability improvements, defect reduction, and product robustness initiatives. · Qualify, evaluate, and monitor suppliers; review supplier PPAPs, CoCs, CMRTs, failure analyses, corrective actions, and supplier audit results.
